This is a call for expressions of interest for Mantjikay 2010
Mantjikay 2010 is a week of full yidaki immersion in Dhalinybuy, the home and hotbed of world-known yidaki makers like Ngongu, Mirrwatnga, Djakapurra and others.
The tour is organised by Jeremy Cloake who doesn't need much further introduction to the yidaki world.
The tour is still dependant on several things being sorted out. The tentative dates are 15 to 24 October 2010. Cost would be somewhere between AUD 2200 and AUD 2700 per person. 5 or 6 nights camping at Dhalinybuy and several other activities (visiting Djalu/art centre/beaches etc).
The group is limited to 15 people which guarantees a really intensive interaction with the local makers and players as there are at least 15 top class makers and players in Dhalinybuy that could take you out bush to cut yidaki or give you some private tuition.
